Can JSM interact with AD via powershell

Steven Lees-Smith

Hi there,

Doing some initial comparisons to systems and want to hit to low hanging fruit.

We have full workflows from our service desk that creates users in AD via powershell scripts, adds users to groups, also disables users, triggers removals from groups and such.

Can Jira Service Management leverage powershell scripts to interact with Active Directory at this sort of level?

Thanks.

Hi Steven!

I've just answered your previous question about JSM and powershell (which was well described - thank you!) and I think the information there likely covers this as well. In a nutshell, you could trigger a webhook from JSM and receive the webhook to run a powershell runbook in Azure. JSM won't run powershell scripts directly, but the Automation action for sending a web request can send as much information/variables as you need for a powershell script running somewhere else to complete the job.

Cheers,
Daniel
