Hello everyone,
I’d like to set up an automation. When the ‘Work Type’ is changed in a ticket, the ‘Request Type’ in the ‘Work Item view’ should also be automatically updated to reflect the only possible scenario.
Currently:
I change it manually, but it doesn’t update in the ‘Work Item view’ and is displayed in red.
Has anyone done this before, or can anyone tell me how to do it
Hello @Jens Prokoph
Each request type is tied to its work item type. If you are changing the work item type, all of the statuses would also be changed as well. This is considered as moving of a work item. It will also ask you which Request type needs to be applied. See the picture below.
In automation, you don't have a trigger when the work item is being changed to other work item type.
I’m sorry, but I’ve just found the solution. And yet it does work via automation, because there’s a specific setting for the request type – and that’s what I didn’t know. I just wanted to change the field value, but that isn’t possible here. So you absolutely have to find the relevant option in the automation (see screenshot)
I’ve already tested it several times and it works brilliantly, helping us avoid a lot of unnecessary clicks
