Automation for Jira rules

Domas Araminas September 2, 2021

Hello, we have an issue while getting limits on one rule and we decided to create multiple rules which should be triggered by one. We saw that there is an option to "Check to allow other rule actions to trigger this rule. Only enable this if you need this rule to execute in response to another rule." Could you please explain how to use it?

Hi Domas, welcome to the community.

this feature basically does what it says and I think what you need. It indicates whether a rule can be invoked by another rule. For example let’s say you have two Rules the first rule creates an issue and the second triggers on an issue being created. So if you leave that feature unchecked then the second rule will not trigger as a result of the first rule succeeding. However, if you check the option allowing the second rule to be invoked by another rule then it would trigger on a successful creation from the first.

I hope this makes sense.
