I would like to automate actions when an alert is triggered on Jira Alert Manager. Specifically, I want to automatically create an incident from an alert received through our internal Prometheus integration.
I see that it's possible to automate actions based on issue changes, but I would like to know how to set the trigger condition based on the creation of an alert rather than just issue updates.
How can I use alert creation as a source condition for automation rules?
Welcome.
There is no Jira Alert Manager in ootb Jira Service Management.
Are you referring to this: https://github.com/prometheus-community/jiralert
If you are this is custom integration, contact the creators and see what is possible.
Or do I mis the point, if so provide screenshots and config information.

In the link you provided, you can create alert and use automation based on alerts.
But only via the operations action based on a team.
In the default automation you can't use an alert as a trigger.
