Automate adding a Component for when a specific Request Type is submitted

Hi.  I want to create a rule that will automate populating an issue with a specific Component when a specific Request Type is submitted.  Is this possible?  

I got as far as setting up a rule where:

  • Trigger:  when an issue is created,
  • Condition:  Request Type = the specific request type I'm targeting,
  • Action:  then an action of Edit Issue fields, but not sure how to tell it that the edit is to add the specific component to the issue.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You are on the right track, and in the edit issue action you select the components field and then it will allow you to pick from the list of components that you have in the project.
