Hi Atlassian Community,

I am currently reviewing Rovo credit usage in Atlassian Administration → Insights → Platform usage → Rovo credits.

I noticed that a user named Atlassian Assist (halp.com@connect.atlassian.com) consumed 100 Rovo credits.

What I would like to understand is which Atlassian Assist activity is responsible for consuming these credits.

In our environment, Atlassian Assist is being used together with Jira Service Management / Virtual Service Agent features. I expected Virtual Service Agent usage to be counted separately as assisted conversations rather than Rovo credits.

However, the usage report shows:

  • Atlassian Assist

  • Rovo credits consumed: 100 credits

  • It appears to have been consumed in a single usage event

Could someone clarify:

  1. Which features or actions performed by Atlassian Assist consume Rovo credits?

  2. Why would a single Atlassian Assist operation consume exactly 100 credits?

  3. Could this be related to Virtual Service Agent, AI Answers, intent processing, ticket creation, or another AI-powered action?

  4. Is there a way for an organization admin to view the detailed usage event and identify exactly which action caused these 100 credits to be consumed?

  5. Is Atlassian Assist treated as a system/service account when Rovo credit usage is recorded?

I would especially like to confirm whether this 100-credit usage is expected behavior or whether it indicates that another Rovo capability was triggered indirectly.

Hi @CIS JSM01

Welcome to the community.

1) Assist is a chat based integration for Slack or Teams, if you use the Atlassian Rovo slack app for assist, then this will consume credits.using-the-atlassian-rovo-slack-app

2) The graph doesn't explain this as a single action, but a sum

3) Yes using a virtual agent using AI will consume will consume Rovo credits.

4) No there is not

5) Yes if Rovo chat is used or from Slack or Team Rovo commands are used, if Assist is integrated

For more information, it would be better to raise a support ticket to get more information

I’ve also noticed that the information is becoming more granular, so maybe more will become possible over time. Things around Rovo are changing almost at light speed at the moment.

Hello and Welcome to Atlassian Community @CIS JSM01

I thinks thats Rovo Deep Research or Think Deeper action. Mostly.

The halp.com@connect.atlassian.com address is a legitimate Atlassian backend account used by Assist.

Check an Assist-created ticket triggered an Automation or Studio rule containing a Use Rovo action.

Org admins can verify exact timestamps by exporting data from Atlassian Administration > Insights > Platform usage > Rovo credits and cross-referencing Automation audit logs. If the source remains unconfirmed, open a support case to clarify whether VSA AI Answers can consume Rovo credits.
