Apprpver that can not edit tickets

Vera Valshonok

Hi All,

I am building a project and on one of the stages I need to have an approver who actually has and Agent role on the jira administration side, but on this project, we want to give him  only the ability to approve tickets, without permission to edit or close them.

How can I build in a project this way so that he will have such permission and be able to approve?

Thanks

Hey @Vera Valshonok

If you have a JSM portal then the user does not need JSM Agent permission.

he/she will get an email and it will direct them to the portal, and they will only be able to Approve/Decline the work-item, and based of what you set for Approved and Declined, the work-item will transition to the correct status.

Therefore, the only access the approver needs is "JSM Customer" access.

Hi Vera,

Try just giving him the Service Desk Customer project role and see if that does it for you.

Hi Vera,

Approvers do not need to have JSM agent license. Approvers can approve tickets from email or customer portal.

If the approver needs to have agent license, their ability to edit tickets can still be restricted using jira workflow properties.
