Anyone used *fake* email "From" to remove "out of office" email issues?

I have the problem seen here: https://support.atlassian.com/jira/kb/jira-service-management-not-rejecting-or-filtering-automatic-reply-emails-from-certain-users/

Where outlook will send a "on leave" email back to JSM which is showing up as a comment on tickets and confirmed in the header its stripped out the "automated reply" headers. I think most of them are because we do this burst email out to users via automation.

Has anyone tried using customized email to change the "From" to be a "noreply-email@atlassian.domain". If we are not picking up emails at the noreply email, would that effectively mean all those emails will go nowhere (which in this case is what I want)? Or does Atlassian pick it up anyway somehow still?

Apologies I know this is a vague one and I'm finding it hard to test as once I test with my email, Atlassian auto-blocks the on-leave from then onwards, which is great, but makes it hard to test. Cheers

@Calvin

The reference point link you provided is for Data Center env only and not applicable to the Cloud env.

Have to try to adjust the allowed list entry for your sender domain to rejecting the those auto-replied email?  - https://support.atlassian.com/jira/kb/emails-sent-by-customers-are-rejected-by-jira-service-management-mail-handler/

Don't know if this helps or not.  Otherwise, I would recommend that can also contact Atlassian Support (https://support.atlassian.com) for further assistance.

Best, Joseph
