Allow customers to view but not edit a form

I have a form that our agents use to capture vital change control details. We want our customers to view the information on the form but not to edit any of the details. How do we get the form onto the custom portal but don't allow our customers to edit it. Only the organization of the work issue may view their organizations forms.

Hi @Patrick Till ,

As far as i know, Jira Service Management forms don’t have a built-in “view-only” mode for customers. If you make a form visible on the portal, customers can edit it while it’s open.

What you can do today:

  • Lock the form after submission: In the form settings, enable “Lock form and only allow project admins to reopen it”. This way, customers can see the form but can’t change it after it’s submitted.
  • Show the data in a read-only way: Use automation to copy the form responses into a comment or description field that customers can view but not edit.
  • Visibility control: You can restrict who sees the issue (and therefore the copied details) using Organizations or Request participants.

There’s a request for this functionality here:

Hope that helps!
