After exceeding the 10 users, have been making the payments. But would like to cut down

Ops User 2 August 18, 2021

My company has a jira account with more than 10 users and have been paying for that monthly. After some time, we would like to cut the number of users down and change back to the free plan for the time being. If I reduce the number of users. Can I change it back to the free plan? What is the number of users that I need to reduce to convert to the free plan. For Jira Service Management, Jira Cloud and Confluence

Hi @Ops User 2

Jira Software and Confluence can be on the free plan if they have 10 or less users who have a license for the products. For JSM you are only allowed up to 3 SM agents in order to be on the free plan.

To cut down on these, you can either remove users from the groups which are assigned a Jira license/product access, or you can disable the users' Jira accounts, which will remove their product  license

Once you reduce your numbers to satisfy the free plan you will want to go into the admin billing section under manage subscriptions and click on change plan. Should you have any issues with that then open a request with the billing group under Atlassian support site.
