Adding Jira groups to project workflow rules

Louange HIRWA

Dear Atlassian community,

Is it possible that we can allow Jira groups to be selected when setting up rules?

For example, I select 20 names of people who can move a ticket from one status to another while I could easily create a group, add those 20 people and select that group in "who can move a request".

Currently, it only allows to select users not groups.

I would also like to have groups available in selection of the default assignee of the request. Instead of sending all new requests to a single user, they can be sent to a group and anyone from that group can work on it.

I would like to have your reply. thanks!! ~Jira Fan

hi @Louange HIRWA ,

1. set condition on transition to be done by a group only (workflow).

2. to assign request to a group set jira automation rule when requested assign to this group.

Much thanks @Saqib Dar

I found the second solution in automation, Groups can be assigned new requests.

But for the first one, I could not find how to set a transition to be done by a group only.

I appreciate your quick help ♥
