Add A Field In A JSM Form If The Due Date Is Within X Days

I'm building a form that requires an explanation if the due date is in the next 72 hours of when the form is filled out. Can I have an additional field appear that the user can enter the explanation in?

Welcome to the community.

If I understand you correct, you want to have a field on the JSM to be filled out based on a calculation on the present day and time and 72 hours in the future.

Forms can be conditional, but not in this way.

Calculation like this can be done with automation in Jira, but only after an issue is created.

Pre-calculation based on input before an issue is created is not possible.

Not sure I understand your question correctly.

It's possible to display a field in a form, dependent on the value you entered or selected in another field. It's not possible to perform some kind of date check however.
