One of our clients has a request which requires avoiding the use of JSM notifications that have the ability to set the custom email addresses that would receive and send out emails.
For receiving, this is sorted out when navigating to Project settings > Email requests and by connecting a custom email address. For sending out notifications, we tried Jira automation but it isn't possible to change 'FROM' address there.
ScriptRunner for the on-prem platform provides this capability, however, for cloud this isn't the case. So, we are now searching for a solution with which this would be possible. This can be a native Jira solution or an add-on.
Additionally, this email handler should be able to send out attachments.
The use case that requires this:
Email is a primary communication channel for this client. They are communicating with their clients strictly via email. We're trying to make a switch from email to JSM (portal). Some clients still prefer to use emails, so the agents will move to JSM, but clients will stay on email. Due to some specific requirements, native JSM notifications are not an option.
Whenever agents make a reply on the JSM side, all customers involved should receive an email notification containing the reply (including an attachment) from a specific email address (the same address that is receiving the email requests).
