Scaling Your Enterprise: Massive Performance Boosts in Asset Data Manager

We’ve overhauled our backend to support up to 10 million objects per object class, giving you the headroom to manage even the most complex environments.

As your organizations grow, so does the complexity of your digital infrastructure. We know that for our largest Enterprise customers, managing data — it’s about mapping millions of data points across a host of different systems.

To ensure Asset Data Manager continues to be the backbone of your data governance strategy, we’ve completed a major backend migration to a new architecture. This isn't just a "maintenance" update; it’s a massive leap forward in scalability.

What’s Changing?

We’ve shattered previous limits to give you more flexibility:

  • 10 Million Objects per Class: You can now scale individual object classes up to 10 million records.

  • 2 Million Records per Data Source: Get larger datasets from a single source into Data Manager without needing to shard or split your data.

  • Faster Processing: The migration to our new high-performance database backend means more efficient queries and more reliable data syncing, even at peak loads.

What to expect during the transition

We’ve engineered this migration to be completely seamless with only 30 minutes downtime for your day-to-day operations. You can continue to view, search, and manage your objects in Data Manager.

However, as we move data to the new architecture, there is a small window where active background processes may be affected. Specifically, some requests to ingest data may fail or be interrupted during the switch-over; however, we will auto-restart them for you.

What you need to do:

If you notice an error in your logs when connecting to your data source, simply run the job again. Once the job is restarted, it will sync directly with the new, high-performance backend.

When is this happening?

Migration has begun and will be complete for all sites by the end of July 2026.
