TL;DR Use JSM ChatOps Slack application to manage alerts and on-call
Hello Everyone,
This post gives a quick walkthrough of how you can leverage Jira Service management ChatOps capabilities to receive notifications for the alerts and also take actions on them directly from Slack. This eliminates the need for the on-call responder to keep logging in to the JSM UI to acknowledge and close alerts. Further, the more advanced users can also use the /jsmops
command in Slack to take actions from the command line seamlessly. To learn more about Slash command click here
Customers can add multiple Slack integrations to simplify alert notifications. For instance, if they wish to set up an integration to notify a Slack channel based on priority, they can configure it according to their specific use case. These notifications can be sent to either public channels private channels or even direct messages in Slack.
Who can configure it?
Jira admins can set up Slack workspaces for the JSM site, this is required to create the Slack integrations for receiving alerts
Team admins can set up Slack integrations for their teams (Slack notifications will be sent only for alerts on which their team is added as a responder)
