📢 Announcing: ‘Views’ in Jira Service Management is now ‘Multi-space work’

We’re excited to share an important update to Jira Service Management: the feature previously known as Views is now called Multi-space work.

image-20251210-055823.png

Why the change?

As Jira Service Management evolves, we want to make it easier for you to manage work across multiple spaces (formerly known as projects). The new name, Multi-space work, better reflects the feature’s core capability: allowing you to visualize and manage work items from across several spaces in one place in a list, board, or calendar view.

This change also helps differentiate it from views in Queues, which are limited to a single space. With Multi-space work, you can bring together issues from multiple spaces, making it ideal for cross-team or cross-department collaboration.

What’s new

  • Same powerful features, clearer name: All the functionality you know and love remains, but the feature is now labeled Multi-space work.
  • Future-ready: This update paves the way for even more multi-space capabilities in Jira Service Management.

Thanks @Subrata Dass

When is this rolling out?

I just recently revamped some of our JSM projects to be more specific. So with the new JSM project, I had the need to create an accompanying Software project to handled a board, backlog and sprints for some of tickets coming into the new JSM project.

I guess another question is (which may be slightly off topic but any guidance/links is welcome) - would the Board view on JSM projects every have Scrum/Kanboard board features?

Thanks, Yatish

We are generally excited about the idea of having multi-space visualization options in JSM, and the very silo'ed nature of JSM is getting in our way on a regular basis, so this is very nice to read.

Questions:
What is the roll out plan/schedule for this?

Are there any plans for multi-space queues?

And are there any plans for multi-space other things?
Example: We regularly find situations where surfacing request type/form1 from Space A on the customer portal for Space B would be quite handy. So multi-space request types could be quite good. Or being able to add external resources inside portal groups would allow us to link to request types across Spaces.

I've thought the same as @Rune Rasmussen to have multiple view options for queues which would be useful when different teams work on the same project and can choose the view that suits them best.

@Yatish Madhav you can use custom filter to filter out JSM tickets and add it to Jira software Kanban or Scrum board as a workaround.

Thanks @Tomas Vaicekauskas  - yes, I do already have it set up ... was more so curious if there would possible a hybrid - if you will - sort of JSM project that allows for boards, backlog and sprints too :)

@Subrata Dass How will this relate to Atlassian Home Dashboards (with groups, segments, widgets and charts for JSM)?

The feature with the underlying functionality of Multi Space Work has been Live for a while now . If you go to the List View you should be able to see Multi Space Work Items . Its only the renaming that is being done now .
