We are setting up JPD Premium for our product team, especially to roll up reporting and status from an assortment of Jira Space/Projects into our roadmap pretty quickly. I am still playing around and learning how the tool works, but the hierarchy feature is primarily why I wanted our company to add the premium - so I can get good reporting, planning, and reprioritizing. I would really like to setup the Space with this from the beginning. Thank yous! https://evolve24.atlassian.net/
Hi @Tanguy Crusson! This is great news, would love to test it out!
We would use this to create Opportunity Solution Trees for our product and team. Lots of use cases but primarily for collaboration with stakeholders, visualizing the opportunity space together.
@Tanguy Crusson We're currently organising Opportunity-Solution-Trees in Miro and this by nature creates friction as we then try to mirror the parent-child relationships in JPD but cannot have it visually represented in the same way. Me any my whole product team has been desperately waiting for this to be shipped and available to not only make opportunity-solution relationships much clearer, but also leverage this as a visual way for managing stakeholders. Hey @Tanguy Crusson I manage the Atlassian suite at my company and I've gotten quite a few users reaching out after watching this video. We have primarily deployed JPD in the context of Product management but also have organizations experimenting with using it manage overall portfolios as well. We'd love early access if still possible!
Hi @Tanguy Crusson , we'd also like to try this feature at stayinformed.atlassian.net .
We use Jira PD intensively, but we always struggle with the level of detail at which we track ideas. Sometimes, they are smaller requests that merit individual tracking while being part of a bigger idea. Hierarchies would be useful here. We would also like to experiment with using this to model Teresa Torres's 'Opportunity Solution Trees'.
Hi @Tanguy Crusson we're currently using "connections" to implement OSTs, but the visualization is not optimal (it really depends on the View type and its configuration) and can misleading and/or confusing. I've been waiting months for the ability to set up an effective hierarchical view of ideas 😉
Our Product Management Ops team would like to test the Tree View functionality, as it could help with their product strategic operations. Could you enable this in our sandbox environment (https://insulet-productdiscovery-sandbox.atlassian.net)?
I'd love access to this feature. We've recently implemented differentiated idea types and this view would make the relationships between ideas/sub-ideas much clearer.
Hi @Tanguy Crusson, I'd love to join the trial to try this out. We're looking for a better way to visualise the link between business objectives and deliverables across 20+ teams. We use JPD to represent our roadmap, and I'd like to group deliverables under a hierarchy of Strategic Objective → Product Objective → Product KR. Our site is economist.atlassian.net. Thanks!
Looks like a great feature, would love to get early access.
Please explain your use case
Largely to unpick the complexity across a large number of ideas, linked iterations, and tech enablers. It's difficult to visualise this when talking to more technical minds. I'm not sure a commercially minded stakeholder needs this view but the technically minded stakeholder likes to make sense of things.
@Tanguy Crusson this would be a brilliant addition. We're actively building opportunity solution trees as part of our discovery practice, but currently have to build them in Lucidchart and reference back into JPD. The sync isn't clean and trees drift out of date because they live separately from the ideas they relate to. Having this natively in JPD would close that loop and make trees a living artefact.

Immediate use cases:
Mapping desired outcomes to opportunities to solution ideas across a domain with multiple competing problem spaces feeding into a shared roadmap
Visualising team wishlists against committed work, so stakeholders can see how individual ideas ladder up to outcomes
Cross-functional discovery where we need a shared view between PM, engineering and data stakeholders
Happy to feed back through the in-app button as we use it.

We currently use JPD help facilitate the Program and Portfolio levels in SAFe. We're using the hierarchy to associate ideas at the Program level to the Portfolio level. Often, program ideas or features can be associated to multiple portfolio objectives. The tree view would help visualize these complex relationships.
We're interested in seeing this enabled for our environment as well, as we've been asked to start showing a clear line from the features that are being built to the larger company initiatives that are also built and tracked within JPD.
We've been driving consistency across all the product teams & delivery around connecting our Goals, OKRs to Opportunity, Initaitive and Iterations. We're struggling to have visibility, report and plan without this tree view - we've been waiting so long. Please can we get Early Access.
Hi team, great work on the tree view! Quick feedback on the opt-in process: asking for instance URLs in public comments isn't ideal for OPSEC. It publicly links specific users to company instances, creating a perfect target list for spear-phishing. For future Early Access programs, using a private form would be a much safer approach. Thanks!
I'd love to try out the Tree view. I'm working with a hierarchy that mixes an Opportunity Solution Tree with a legacy migration path. It'd be useful to have this visualization. leadershipcircle.atlassian.net
We are trying to match our JPD to delivery with a theme > initiative > solution (epic) structure so being able to map this out visually would be fantastic!
