Question: Using Assets in CSM Forms

Joanna Pietruszka
March 18, 2026
  • Is it possible to use Assets fields directly in CSM Forms for external customers to select a location?
  • If so, is the selected Asset value easily accessible in automation rules and issue fields (for reporting, routing, etc.)?

  • If not, is there a recommended workaround for handling large lists of selectable locations (>400) in CSM Forms?

HI @Joanna Pietruszka ,

The short answer is Yes. As best practice, try to narrow down the list as short as possible for end user ease of use.

A similar post was asking in a similar regard. This should get you going in the right direction. Essentially, you can link assets to fields, so the field can pull up the list of values.

Thanks,

Ben

Hi @Joanna Pietruszka

In terms of using Assets fields directly in CSM Forms for your customers, this is currently in progress and will be released soon! You can follow the progress here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CSM-6
