How to set up context-sensitive help in Confluence?

Zabrina Shkurti August 2, 2019

Hello! I am trying to figure out how to set up context-sensitive help in Confluence. I have scoured through all the conversations on this topic and yet I haven't been able to find a concrete answer.

Here's what I know:

1) I have to set up page keys for each page that will link to a specific url in the software

2) I need some sort of mapping file

The mapping file is where I am stuck. Any advice??

Hello Zabrina,

Upon investigating your issue, I have gathered the information I found in my reply on the below thread:

Long story short, there is a mapping file that is included with Confluence Server, but not Cloud. It's located in a Server installation under WEB-INF/lib, in the confluence-X.XX.X.jar file.

This is not included in Confluence Cloud, and it is not possible to upload a mapping file in Cloud.

For Cloud, you would need to set up the context-sensitive help using labels. Thais goes over it here: Is there a possibility of creating context sensitive help from confluence?

I hope that helps, but do let me know if you have any additional questions.

Regards,

Shannon
