Currently we are doing authoring using Adobe Frame Maker & Xmart. Is there a possibility that we can create context sensitive help from confluence. Actually we use to give topic alias id's to the contents to be displayed for the context.
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Here are two suggestions to create a context sensitive help from Confluence:
- Add labels to the pages reflecting the areas their contents.
- Choose a page to be the index, and add a macro to list the labels accordingly. Some of the macros that can be used:
-- Content by Label Macro: The Content by Label macro is used to display lists of pages, blog posts or attachments that have particular labels. It's great for collecting related pages together and filtering out content that you don't want to see.
-- Content Report Table Macro: The Content Report Table macro displays a set of pages and blog posts in tabular format, based on the labels specified in the macro parameters.
-- Labels List Macro: The Labels List macro displays a list of all labels within the current space. Each label in the list links to a page that displays all pages in the current space that contain that label.
2) Questions for Confluence
The Questions for Confluence works as the Atlassian Community, allowing your users to post questions and find information, and you may organize the questions by topic. (Please note the Questions for Confluence is a paid, with a free trial.)
Thanks for the reply. I have currently started using confluence for documentation in my project. Am not sure how this works. Do you have a training video on Context sensitive help?
Usually the topic alias id's are mapped along with the UI pages for context sensitive help. Does label macros replace the Topic alias ID's.
Is there a possibility for a meeting?
Thanks in advance,
