Option to Archive Compass Components? like how there is an option in Bitbucket at the project level, the default only displays active repos, but you could filter on archived or view all. would be nice for Compass to also have something similar

Hi @Alie Sesay
I see that components archiving is available now, but it is impossible to archive a component that has the type service, application, or capability, because such components are automatically synced to Jira Service Management.

When I try to archive a component that is synced to JSM, I get an error:

"Components synced to Jira Service Management can’t be archived".

How can I archive such components? Is there any way to disable that synchronization?

Thank you!

If you change the component type (e.g. to Other) then you can archive. I'll leave it to Atlassian folk to explain why that might be.

We just had the same issue, @Keith Furnell 's comment helped. So wierd. Why should the component type matter if we want to archive a component?

Hey Phill,

I apologize for the delayed response.

I've reviewed it internally; unfortunately, we don't have a schedule or roadmap for it at the moment. However, we are keeping track of the request, and our team has recorded your feedback.

Warm regards,

Alie

For anybody having this issue, I asked for a feature request to allow us to archive components wihtout having to go via the workaround and change the component type first. Please vote for it here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/COMPASS-165
