Welcome back, Atlassian Community, to the fourth year of Likes for Trees! ๐ณ๐ณ๐ณ๐ณ If this is your first year, welcome! โจ And if you've been here before, well, you already know how much we love you. ๐ (You can tell I'm extra excited because I'm ๐ overdoing ๐ the ๐ฒ emojis ๐ฅณ but I will stop now.)
We're partnering once again with One Tree Planted in the hopes of planting more trees than ever before. I hope if you're reading this, you'll join us. Planting a tree is super easy and you can plant up to 100 (!) trees per day. Here's 6 ways to do it:
1. Like any piece of content on the forum. A comment, a post, an article - just click the thumbs up on something like-worthy, and you've planted one tree. See how easy that was?
To help give others something to like, you can recommend like-worthy content in the comments (our trending articles are always good). You can hit up a group to find fun conversations. And come back all month long to post tree gifs and pictures in this year's tree thread, and like everyone else's! You can even like this very post to plant your first tree of the year. Meta!
2. RSVP to plant a tree. Your local ACEs (Atlassian Community Events) are awesome, free chances to network and learn with other community members, whether in person or online. Read our overview post for more on ACEs, and RSVP to the next one in your area this month.
As a bonus, the ACE chapter with the most RSVPs in June will get a bonus 500 trees planted in the One Tree Planted region nearest to them. We're excited to see who wins!
3. Tell us what helped you grow in the Training & Certification group! We didn't want to leave our amazing Learning friends out this year, and there's a very on-theme thread you can join to chat about how you've grown. We'll plant a bonus tree for every comment - in addition to the usual trees for likes or shares.
Plus, in that thread you can chat with our own head of Learning, @Marshall Walker Lee - who can answer any questions you have about our Certifications, Training, and free Learning offerings. ๐ค
4. Send recognition to other users. We now have four recognition categories to choose from, and you can award them by searching their name in the Kudos window. They'll get 100 bonus points and you'll plant a tree.
5. Share a piece of community content with the hashtag #LikesForTrees and encourage your networks to join and plant trees with us! We really need all hands on deck to help us max out our tree donation this year, so spread the word, friends!
6. Vote in the poll. In case you missed it, the poll is here and will determine where we plant our thousands of trees.
For a final moment of inspiration, here is an actual real-life tree planted by One Tree Planted thanks to our donation last year. This little tree could have been the result of one click of your finger. Isn't that amazing?
(Oh, are you here, reading the secret fine print? In that case, I'll tell you a secret: if you achieve the status of Super Planter this year by planting 300 trees in July, you'll get a very special reward. Shh. Don't tell anyone. Except also tell everyone. We have a lot of trees to plant.)
