🌳 4 ways you can help Likes 4 Trees break records this year!

Hello, Atlassian Community! It’s that time again, the fourth year of Likes for Trees (this year, called Likes 4 Trees). Welcome!  During Likes for Trees, you can take simple actions (such as clicking "Like" on a community post) and for each action you take, we will plant a real-life tree thanks to our partners in the Atlassian Foundation and One Tree Planted. 🌳

Last year we planted 45,000 trees  and broke records - but look at how tempting that next nice big round number is. Do you think we can make it to 50,000 trees this year? BECAUSE I DO. Here's four ways you can help us hit our goal:

1. Mark your calendar! Likes 4 Trees starts as soon as it’s July 1 at Atlassian HQ in Sydney, with more ways than ever for you to plant trees, up to 100 per person per day. Want to make sure you don’t miss it? We’ll post a reminder here, so leave a comment below or click the "Watch" eyeball to watch the thread, and be the first to know.

                 

2.  Vote! At the bottom of this post, there’s a poll where you can vote on where we plant our trees. We’ll split our trees among the top vote-getters.  Canada? India? Thailand? Malawi? Portgual? Vote below! And for further inspo, here’s a picture of some of last year’s trees being planted in the Amazon. Amazing, right? Plus, we plant a tree for every vote! So you can start by planting a tree... right now! 

 

3.  Tell your friends! It’s going to be a stretch to get to 50,000 trees so we need all hands on deck.  Encourage your friends to log in and smash that like button, and take other tree-planting actions - they can start by voting in the poll below and saying hello in the comments. 🗳️

4.   Last but not least.. become a Super Planter this year! If you plant 300 trees or more during this year’s festivities, we have an amazing gift for you that you’re not going to want to miss. 

Last year we had 18 Super Planters and we’re hoping for more this time around.  Can you beat @Amanda Barber and @Dan Breyen, who each planted over 2500 trees last year? Remember, you can plant up to 100 trees per day.  Someone's gonna hit 3000 this year, I can feel it... 🌳

Kudos seems broken again for me :( I got 1 point/tree yesterday early after the start and that's it. Neither finishing the poll, nor posting, nor liking advances the needle. @Monique vdB

I was wondering the same thing - maybe the logic should say "Complete ANY ONE of the following" instead of "ALL," since the poll can only be answered once? 🤔

Nah, it should give you one tree per action taken. So each like is a tree (up to the limit). But yes, the poll can only be done once (I hope :D).

I was wondering why the needle is not moving up or advancing up.

I just got 1 point for completing the poll and now I am liking, commenting and sharing but nothing showing up. Maybe @Monique vdB can answer on what's happening and whether rules have changed or we are doing something wrong ?

Yes, same for me .. It got stuck yesterday at "Only 49966 completions left" now it is "Only 49964 completions left" so it got reduced by 2 :) .. so definitively something is wrong .. Sadly we could already plant so many trees since start.. we have to catch up now but still hope we can reach 50k!

The issue was reported earlier today by @Tomislav Tobijas and backed by @Amanda Barber and myself in the Champions Slack channel. Given most of the Communiteam is US based, I'm sure it will be looked into in the coming hours. Maybe - if needed - the deadline can be extended a bit to compensate at the end of the month ... 🔮
