I don't know what's up with this. It just keeps saying "unable to verify domain" for both HTTPS and TXT verification methods, and those are all I can use. To verify the TXT record, I am able to run a nslookup and get the proper TXT result. It has been a week at this point since we have added it. It is way past the 72 hours it says it may need. I saw some known issues in support for the TXT records. So, a couple days ago we tried HTTPS instead, and we can go to the load the webpage that is tied to the html file we add to the domain webserver. So, we have verified the file is in place properly there, too.
I have tried deleting both records and re-adding as suggested in other posts online and no dice as well

This is certainly something that Atlassian Support will need to look into. Have you created a support ticket for this already? You can do so here: https://getsupport.atlassian.com/
They should be able to check for the exact issue.
