For my emerging business, I have just acquired a domain.
Now that I verified my ownership of the domain, I can see that there are 22 abandoned Atlassian accounts which have last been used three years ago, which 1) impedes my efforts to register new accounts and 2) may pose a security risk.
How can I remove those abandoned accounts from my domain?

I'm not sure if you're still having this issue or not; if the accounts belonged to a domain that you claimed for your Atlassian organization, they should be treated as managed accounts.
When you navigate to admin.atlassian.com, you should be able to claim any accounts with that domain and suspend or delete them as you see fit; deletion of an account takes 14 days (see Delete a managed account)
