Hi,

I signed up for a bitbucket account using my work email account. Upon completion of the process, I noticed I was added to an org that I don't know, but according to the news, has been acquired by the (much much larger) parent company I work for a few years ago. IT turns out I never should have signed up at atlassian directly, as we use an internally deployed BitBucket solution.

To avoid confusion, I want to remove my account I made with atlassian. However, I cannot do so, as it is an org managed account. But I have no formal affiliation with the company  / org supposedly managing my account. I am unable to contact that org's admin. I don't know to call this a bug or just an improperly handled corner case.

Hi @MR

It seems the account you used to open this thread, it is indeed a managed account, which means an organization verified and claimed the domain you are using for the email address.

That said, they are the owner of your Atlassian Account using this domain, and the Organization admins should be the ones able to delete the account, if they decide to.

I have raised a support ticket (JST-1198814), as we cannot share sensitive information here, such as email addresses, names, etc.
We have raised the ticket with the same email you used to open this community thread, so please give a check on your email box, to see the notification and access the link and send any comments and reply there. :)

Cheers,
Jessica

Hello @MR  @Jessica @Valerie Knapp
Atlassian Support Team,

I signed up for a bitbucket account using my work email account. Upon completion of the process, I noticed I was added to an org that I don't know, but according to the news, has been acquired by the (much much larger) parent company I work for a few years ago. IT turns out I never should have signed up at atlassian directly, as we use an internally deployed BitBucket solution.

I am also facing the same issue as many users online, and I am unable to contact the support team directly through the normal channels. I also cannot raise a support ticket because I am on the Community (Free) edition, which limits my access to direct support.

I am trying to delete my Atlassian account but I receive this error:

"User is last billing admin of a transaction account that has one or more active entitlements."

This indicates that I am not an organization admin and therefore cannot remove the active products (Rovo, Jira, Confluence) myself.

Billing shows active entitlements:
- Rovo (Free)
- Confluence (Free)
- Jira (Free)

Since I cannot remove these products or delete the organization due to missing permissions, please remove these entitlements or delete the organization on my behalf so I can successfully delete my Atlassian account.

Thank you.

Hi @MR , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your post.

As you are talking about your Atlassian ID / account, I will flag this to Atlassian as we are also not able to intervene in a specific organization to help.

Best wishes
