Atlassian Community Round-up: June 2022

Hello Everyone,

Another month has come and gone and we’re back with another content rich Community Round-up!

Let’s dive in and see all the great things I have for you this time:

First up, as always, if there is a Security Advisory, I’m going to bring it up. This one is specifically for Confluence Server & Data Center. If you haven’t read the advisory, please go read and and see what you need to do to protect yourself and your company. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-articles/Critical-Security-Advisory-for-Confluence-Server-and-Data-Center/ba-p/2046446

Next, Jira Software version 9.0 & Jira Service Management 5.0 (both for Data Center) are now available. If you are on Data Center, I’d recommend reading through the release notes and the upgrade notes to see what you need to do to prepare for this upgrade. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-articles/Help-your-teams-scale-responsibly-Jira-Software-9-0-amp-Jira/ba-p/2059355

Continuing with the new feature announcements, Confluence Cloud has introduced a new way to visualize tables with embeded charts you can dynamically update on the page. If you have been exporting data to Excel, you might want to check this out and see if this might make your life a little easier. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-articles/Introducing-Table-Visualization-Quickly-turn-Confluence-tables/ba-p/2037230

Lastly, in the realm of new updates, Atlas (formerly Team Central), has added a new “Learnings“ tab to projects. This will allow you to document things you learned while working on the project, so you know what to continue next time and what to try differently. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Team-Central-articles/Share-what-you-know-with-Learnings/ba-p/2054920

Next, the Confluence Cloud team is sponsoring a number of events the June ones have already past, but there are more planned for July & August. Check out this post to see what you have to look forward to. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-articles/Confluence-Where-work-and-wellness-meet/ba-p/2033678

As you all know I really enjoy including articles where people are sharing cool things they have done with the Atlassian tools. First, @Boyan Angelov shares a how to on Jira Automation to move a Project Issue type from On Hold and back. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Automation-articles/Using-Jira-Automation-to-put-your-project-On-Hold-and-resume-it/ba-p/2043646

Next, If you have ever wondered why you should be using Trello. @Brittany Joiner has a great article comparing it to Clickup. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Trello-articles/When-to-choose-Trello-over-Clickup/ba-p/2045397

Lastly, @Teodora _Old Street Solutions_ shares some Jira Dashboard tips for improving efficiency of Marketing teams. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-articles/How-Use-of-Jira-Dashboards-Improved-our-Marketing-Team-s/ba-p/2053737

Finally, we have a couple of individuals to feature. First, @Kelly Arrey is June’s #JiraHeroes and shares how they are using Structure to give them the hierarchy they need , coupled with Jira Automation to improve their efficiency. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-articles/JiraHeroes-June-22-Spotlight-Kelly-Arrey/ba-p/2059821

And, we end with month with a truly heart-warming story. If you aren’t familiar with @Michael Kimathi _AC Nairobi_ Kenya_, he is a wonderful local ACE leader in Nairobi, who was honored at TEAM '22 with the “Setting the Standard“ award for all the work he does as a local leader there. This story is worth reading, go check it out right now! https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Teamwork-Lab-articles/How-Community-Leader-Michael-Kimathi-creatively-empowers-his/ba-p/2052404

If you are looking for even more content, fear not, we have trending discussions for you to join in on the conversation:

Thank you for joining me once again this month. As always, there is way to much great content to include in this post, so please use this as a starting point to go find more of the great content that is out there on the Community.

Have a wonderful weekend, and I will see you all back here next month with another collection for you to read!
