make due date of new card dependent on due date or custom field date of another card

How can I create an automation whereby each new card I create in a certain list gets a due date dependent on the due date (or custom field date) of an existing card? Is that even possible? It's in itself a very simple formula, but I don't know how to get it to work in automations.

For example:

List = issue 5.4 magazine

Card 1 = Press date (this due date or custom date field will determine all the following cards)

Card 2 = Edit close (press date -60 days)

Card 3 = Ad close (press date -30 days)

Etc.

All suggestions welcome! Thanks

Hi @Katinka Domen ! Welcome to the community :) I created a quick video a while ago showcasing a similar workflow. Basically, the idea is you set a date on a card (like a project or milestone due date), and this then determines the dates on the dependent or related cards.

In your case, you would be subtracting days from the date rather than adding.

Hi Hannah.

This only works if all intervals are the same though, right? If for example I wanted to do something like this:

Project date: 25 nov

First linked card: project date -10days

Second linked card: project date -20days

Third linked card: project date - 50days

Is that possible too?
