Within Butler I would like to use a Month function on a Date Custom field

Hello 

When a certain Date  Custom field value is set , I would like to get the Month Number and then make a simple arithmetic o with this Month number. Is there a syntax for that ? 

I have tried : 

when custom field "Probable Start Date" is set to a date, set custom field "PROB MONTH" to "{monthnumbercustomfieldvalue}"

You can use this pattern to format start date
