I was so happy there was a start date on the trello card (placed in the trello card, in the add to card list, above the due date.
I have used this functionality in my project management process. it had quite an important function as this was when the first action on a card was supposed to happen. I incorporated it in a big manual, presented it to team and management.
My surprise was immense when I noticed it was suddenly gone?
Why what happened? Why do functionality shifts in live boards?
How can I get it back?

I had asked the same question to support.
Reason i asked in that the position changed from above due date to inside the due date option. I missed that but afterwards i hoped it returend to the prominent spot on the card.

I see what you were referring to now! Unfortunately, the new design was chosen instead of the old one as it was better received by our users during the test release period (having 2 buttons for dates was one button too many for most feedback) and therefore we decided on the combined solution.
We don't have any plan to go back to the two buttons version I'm afraid but I'll still share this ticket as a feedback on the overall Date picker project so our team can see comments made by our users and adapt to it if needed
