Unable to connect to GitHub from Trello when on safari

I am having trouble connection to GitHub from Trello when using safari browser. It works well on chrome , but not on safari. The page keeps refreshing back to the "link your GitHub account" button on the powers bar in the card.

I tried disabling cookies and clearing cache on safari and none of it work. 

Does anybody know a workaround?

Do you happen to have any extensions installed in Safari, or are popup windows blocked in some way? If so, try disabling extensions and allowing those popup windows to see if that allows the authorization window to appear.

Since it's working in Chrome, my very best bet is that there's something stuck in the browser preventing the connection.
