Trying to trigger a checklist item from a linked card

So I'm here creating sub-cards from a given checklist and linking them to the upper-card.
Note: The sub-cards have the same name as the correspondent checklist items.

I want to trigger the correspondent checklist item, in the upper-card when I press a button on the sub-card, but it's not working.

What am I doing wrong here:

When button is pressed -> for each card linked in the attachments, for each checklist item in a checklist named "Subtasks", check item "{cardname}"

After trial and error I've managed to come up with the solution, which is:

find the first card linked in the attachments, and check item "{triggercardname}" in checklist "Subtasks"
