Generally, when we select text, the background color changes to highlight the selected content (as shown in image 1). However, I can't remember when or why, but now on my Trello page, when I select text, the background color no longer changes, making it difficult to notice the selected content (as shown in image 2). What could be causing this, and how can I resolve it? Thanks!
Currently, no other web pages are experiencing this issue, and I can see the background color change after selecting text when I log out of my Trello account (as shown in image 1). The issue only occurs when I am logged into my Trello account (as shown in image 2).
I have tried adjusting all settings, restoring to default settings, and changing to other accounts, but none of these actions have resolved the issue.
My device and software version are as follows:
MacOS 10.15
Chrome 126.0.6478.57

Hi @yunlu,
Thanks for reaching out!
It looks like you are on the Templates page (https://trello.com/templates). While you can't highlight the text under the template categories (as they're images/interactive elements), you should still be able to highlight other text on the page:
That said, if you are experiencing the issue on Trello cards, please let us know.
All the best,

Hi @Lara,
Thanks for your response. I'm so sorry for not replying in a timely manner as I haven't used Trello for a while.
Yes, I encountered the issue on the cards page. The example image was used because I couldn't find the same public page after login. This screenshot on Trello cards probably illustrates my problem better. Here, I selected the text "Trello somehow no longer highlights it."
Best wishes,
Yunlu

Hi there,
Thank you for the additional context.
I haven't been able to replicate the issue you're seeing. Would you mind checking to see if the issue persists when you use a different browser (i.e. Firefox or Safari)?
Please also see if the issue persists when you use light mode.
Thanks!
All the best,

Hi Lara,
Thanks for your response.
I tried it on Safari and light mode. It works well on Safari.
However, the problem still exists in light mode.
I've tried clearing the cookies, removing all extensions and upgrading chrome to the latest version, but nothing has worked.
Best wishes,
Yunlu

Hi Yunlu,
Thank you for checking.
Since the issue doesn't occur when you use Safari, it's likely that the issue is related to Chrome.
I did some quick searches and found that you may be able to resolve the issue following these steps:
If this doesn't work, open chrome://flags, but instead try Reset all button at the top.
You may also want to restart your computer.
After those steps, if it still doesn't work, you may want to reach out to Chrome Support as it seems to be isolated to Google Chrome.
All the best,
Lara

I have upgraded both the system and Chrome to the latest versions, MacOS 13.6.7 and Chrome 126.0.6478.62, but the problem remains unresolved.
I tried logging into a brand new account in a guest window with no Chrome extensions, and the issue still persists. When not logged in, the background color changes when text is selected on the trello.com page to highlight the content. However, after logging in, selecting text does not change the background color, which is inconvenient when editing and needing to duplicate some content.
It seems that this might be an issue with the Trello page itself, unrelated to my local environment and settings. Is anyone else experiencing this issue, and does Trello have any plans to address it?
