I downloaded the app from the Mac App Store.
I entered my username and password.
Next, it asked me to use my security key.
When I clicked the blue button, it just showed the circle loading animation. Nothing popped out, no prompt, nothing.

Hi, I'm having the same issue. I can login via web browser, but the desktop app does not initiate a pop-up window to use a security key. Then, the Emergency Access code simply times-out the login request.
I Reset the local data, no fix. Thank you

@AustinSame exact issue. I can confirm reset local data will not help.
The issue is likely due to the app not having the ability to access the USB security key a situation I have seen with electron based macos apps in the past. I am seeing this issue with both of my Yubi USB security keys which work fine in chrome/safari/firefox since it prompts for access to the key.
@Deven Jahnkethe way I was able to workaround it in the Desktop app was by using my 24 digit recovery key that I received when adding my security key for authentication to atlassian. Once you use that it will generate a new one that you must record for future logins until they fix the issue in the Desktop app.
