Labels being mangled

Scott Harrison May 17, 2020

Hello All,

I have an issue where I am sharing tasks/boards with other people to collaborate on tasks.

Whenever we share, one or the other has added their own labels, they do not match with how the other has setup their labels. The title and colours get mangled.

This is all the more frustrating due to the very limited number of labels we can use.

Any help appreciated

Thanks

I believe you can have an unlimited number of labels, I've never come across any limits on that.

Can you clarify what you mean by sharing a board? If you're adding people into a board, then the labels should be the same by the board. If you mean sharing cards - are you moving cards to different boards? I just tried this out and it looks like I was able to keep the same title label and color. So can you maybe share a specific example of what's happening and I can help diagnose?

Hello Brittany,

Thanks for your response.

If a task gets moved between boards, the labels come with it and do not match the labels on the new board

I only see 9 labels, then you run out of colours

If you move a card it will keep the labels with it (because it's part of the original card), and it won't know what other labels to match it to on the next board. So that's why it keeps them. If you want to get rid of the labels you can copy a card to another board, and there's an option to not keep the labels, so this will let ou copy over the card without the labels.

And there are only 9 colors, but you can have as many as you want, some of them will just share colors. (Ie, you can have ten red ones with different text.)
