Is there any way to automate data exporting from trello to excel?

designing a dashboard in Excel using data extracted from trello and required to make this process automated. (The export data feature in trello can only be used to extract the past data?)

The export in Trello will just export the board at the current state. 

You can automate this process by using an undocumented API feature. If you're unfamiliar with the API, you can read more at https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/trello.
