I am a teacher using Trello for student documentation. I have a "Disciplinary Actions" checklist with the progressive disciplinary steps to check off as events occur.
I would like to have a record of when I check off each item. For example I'd like the list to show the date where I gave a warning.
I've searched and can only find ways to alter the Due Date, not how to add a Done Date.
I use a personal Trello Standard paid account, if that makes a difference.
@Heathar Parker are you trying to log a "done" date for a card or for a checklist item?
Either way, there are lots of ways you could set up what you're trying to accomplish!
If it's checklist items, you could make an automation that says when an item is checked, set the item's due date to "now" (which would effectively create a timestamp of when you checked that item).
You could also create a custom field on the card called "Done" and use another trigger, like a card button, or completing an entire checklist to then set the custom field "Done" date to the "now", which would be when you trigger the automation.
Thanks for the reply!
I’m wanting to mark a checklist item, so I can have a timeline for disciplinary events. (Heaven help us all if I ever have to complete that list!)
I ended up making an automation to make the due date the date I checked the item off; I just worried that it would eventually show as overdue.
