Is the time field required when using dates? Edited

I don't want my due dates or custom field dates to note the time, I only want the date. Can I stop the time portion from being displayed?

@Day_Reynolds It always uses time, if time isn't important, does it matter that it's there?

Yes it matters. It’s unnecessary text that takes up precious space. It’s ‘junk’ on the card. It’s extraneous. Good design doesn’t leave in stuff that the user is expected to just overlook. And, it’s additional clicks required to add a date to something.

There should be an “all day” option, or option to not display time.

@Day_Reynolds I've never found it a problem but by all means you could go back to trello.com/contact and submit that as a feature request.
