Is it possible to restrict the creation of lists and card ?

Bureau Etude October 2, 2023

hello,
I am currently admin on trello workspace, to avoid my colleagues (who likes to touch everything) create, modify or move lists and cards I would like to limit their access (except add information in the card description, as well as check the checklist).
Despite my research, I do not think it is possible to limit access to members of the trello.
Do you know a way to limit this access?
Thank you in advance,
Sincerely,
a new user.

Hello @Bureau Etude welcome

Remember that Trello is predominantly a collaboration and team productivity solution. As such, it is very open.  This question comes up quite often and my first response is to ask the team not to do certain things, set up a list on your board with board rules, use Gif's or loom videos to make it more interesting...

If that fails (and it almost certainly will), you could have a master board and a mirrored board for the colleagues.  You can have it 1 direction so if something changes on the master, it mirrors that change to the colleagues board.  Likewise, if a card on the colleagues board is has a checklist item checked or a comment made, you can send that information up to the master board.  This can be done 1 of 3 ways, none of them too straight forward.

  1. Use a card syncing tool like Unito (note, ignore that it says 2-way sync, it can do single way too)
  2. Use Trello automation to do this:

  3. Use Zapier/Make.com/Integrately etc...

If these options are too advanced, you could talk to a Trello consultant who would be able to either set this up for you or guide you through.
