How to stop downloads on Mac

Jen Ballentine January 12, 2022

I've recently got a Mac and it's driving me crazy!  Everytime I try and open an attachment in trello it downloads it, I don't want it to do that.  I just want to preview it.  When I use on my chromebook I have no problems.  Also I have to do attachments on my chromebook rather than MAC too.

Does anyone know how I can change this?

Hi @Jen Ballentine 👋

Welcome to the Community! Hmm that's a strange, I work on a Mac myself but I usually get a preview image before manually downloading. Couple of questions if you don't mind me asking...

  • What type of file attachment keeps causing the automatic download?
  • Have you tried a different browser... does it cause the same response?

In general, you can preview image and video attachments within Trello without having to download them by clicking on the thumbnail of the attachment from the card back to open the preview. However, other file types, like .pdf or .doc cannot be previewed.

Let's see if we can get to the bottom of ths for you 😃

All the best,

Laura
