Hi there - I've been added to a board which is used for new starters, and contains checklists to go through what we need to do. It is a shared board, but I would like to create a private copy of it so I can tick off the checkboxes as I complete them.

If I go to the 'More' menu and 'copy board' - will this be private or still shared with the same team?

Thanks!

Hi @Julia Nix , if you click on the plus sign in the right corner to add a board, and choose create board. A popup box displays where you name the board. Underneath where you name it you have a drop down box that is default the name of your team. If you click on that you will see the option for "no team", then keep the option of private, and then click create board. You will then have your own private board.

But it did not copy the contents of the board, just an empty new board.  What am I missing?

Thanks,

Hi Julia, sorry about that, I added the plus sign instead of copy board feature. When you click on copy board a pop up opens and after you rename your new copy of the board, below there is a drop down and you want it to say none (instead of your team name). Then a copy will appear on your own personal page.

Here is a screen shot so you will see what I mean:

Hi @Melanie Craig the default is to create a private board when you perform a copy board. When you copy the board, you will have the option to rename it, then you can go to that board to double check that the access setting says"private" (this is next to title of board). If it does not say private, you an change it to private to ensure only you have access.

Please let me know if this helps.

Thanks,

Jodi

Hi Jodi. I have the same question but when I click on "Private" it says it is private to everyone on the board.  I have a team of 16 people on the board that I do not want copied onto the new board.  I thought about removing them from the team, then copying but I don't want to lose the info on the original board. I just want to copy the board without any team/board members. How do I do this?
