How can I add a table with rows and columns in a card

I wasnt to be able to add a table of 4 columns and 4 rows

any help would be appreciated.

Is this about trello or confluence? If it is for the latter, then follow @Marta Woźniak-Semeniuk instructions. If you want to add a table on trello, then you can't. Trello provides a markdown format, but this doesn't include any table https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/how-to-format-your-text-in-trello/

You can also read this https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Trello-questions/Adding-a-Table-inside-Trello-Card-Description/qaq-p/775080 for a small workaround that they suggest.

Click in the description field. Then click the table icon - the yellow arrow below points to it 

Once you have a basic 3x3 table added click in any of the cells and click on the arroww that will appear in the upper right corner of the cell.

Now you will see a dropdown do choose to add or delete a column or a row
