Creating cards by email and email threads

Hi,

When creating cards by email, a card will be created by the first email. If replying to the email the messages will be added to the original card as comments. I know it is designed this way to prevent duplicated cards, but I would prefer a new card for the answers. Is this possible?

Thanks for reaching out!

Right now, it's not possible to make email thread replies create new cards rather than be added as a comment to the original card.

As a possible workaround, you could set up an automation for this. For example:

  • when a comment is posted to a card, create a new card with title "{commenttext}" in list "List X"

In this example, we're using the {commenttext} variable to use the contents of the added comment to be used in the card title.

That said, please note that this automation will trigger for any comment made to the card. There isn't a way to make this exclusive to email comments.
