Copy the content of the custom field in the linked card as an item

When I put another card as a linked item in the main card, I need some custom fields to be copied from the main card to the linked card.
What is the solution?

Adding to Hannah's great suggestion below to use wildcards, it may also help to use the lookup action in Automation.

when an item is added to a checklist in a card with custom field "text" set to "{*}", convert the item to a linked card, and set custom field "text" to "{wildcard1}"
