Copy a card when checklist is checked

Kane Nelson March 12, 2024

Is it possible to copy a card when a user ticks a checklist item from a checklist?

I want to duplicate a card which is acting as a template. It contains a cover image, checklists, and a description.

Hi Kane

Welcome to the Trello Community!

Yes, you can achieve this via the Automation Rule

https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/creating-and-managing-butler-commands/#Rules

Example:

when the "Item 1" item is checked, copy the card to the top of list "To Do"

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns, we’d be happy to help.

Hi @Indhudharani Jothimani

I dont want to copy the same card that the checklist item is in, I want to copy a different card with a unique name.

Hi @Kane Nelson

There is an option called find card in the cascade tab under the automation rule.

Find the card first then copy the card to the list

Example:

when the "Item 1" item is checked, find a card titled "Test" in list "To Do", and copy the card to the top of list "STATUS"
