Cards disappear during syncing

When I create a new card, the syncing symbol turns, then card flies away to the top left of the screen, never to be seen again. 

When I search, it's like these cards never existed. 

This is a private board with only me as a user. I've tried adding cards to different boards, and the same thing happens. 

This field wouldn't allow me to add a video, so here's a screenshot of the card, mid flight.

Hi Emma, 

Welcome to the Atlassian Community! 

It sounds like there must be some connection issues on your device. Have you tried connecting to another network (checking another WiFi network or using mobile data)?

Also, are you using any VPN software on your phone? I've seen quite a few reports about VPN affecting Trello's performance. 

It would also be a good idea to try out the troubleshooting steps from this article: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/troubleshooting-for-the-ios-app/ 

If that doesn't help, could I ask you to create a ticket through https://trello.com/contact and include diagnostic reports (as described in the article above)? This gives us access to a few more tools to help investigate, and we can discuss information that can't be shared in the community.

Deleting and reinstalling worked (curiously updating, which I tried first, didn't).
