I am a bit confused on the terminology for connecting cards and the difference between the actions.
How is linking cards different from connecting them? Is that different than relating them?
If I create a button automation that copies Card 1 to another board and links them, is that the same as connecting the cards? If so, why does a hyperlink sometimes come up in Card 1 under the copied card attachment (Card 2) that says "Connect to..."?
It seems like they all do the same thing, but I want to be sure.
Don't get bogged down by the relate part, I'm not sure why they chose that term.
Simplistically
Linking is just the act of copying a Trello card link and pasting it into another card either as an attachment or a checklist item
If you copy the URL for Card A and then paste that into Card B, thats Linking.
Connecting is when you click the Connect Cards button in Card B, it will add a link to Card B as an attachment in Card A, thus connecting them
