Business class upgrade - some questions

Here are my questions: I'm a member of a free workspace that has 8 members. Currently, all 8 members are admins of that workspace. When I access the workspace, I get the offer to "Upgrade this Workspace. Try Business Class free for 14 days."

  • If I click "Start Free Trial", will all of the other admins get the same Business Class permissions for all boards in the workspace, or just me? (And if I were disgruntled, would I have the capability to make myself the sole admin and take sole control of the workspace.)
  • Does it mean that after 14 days, if we decide to keep business class, I will be the one whose account will be charged? (Or will there be an option to choose who pays? (FYI, I was the one who created the workspace. And we all are members under our individual accounts; there's no company account.)
  • If we make any changes to the workspace or its boards during the free trial (e.g. limiting who is a workspace/board admin, or closing a board), will those changes persist if we revert it to a free workspace?
  • If I start a free trial and decide to end it, does that prohibit other workspace admins from trying their own free trial option again later? (I.e., will I need to coordinate with everyone else on "it's a one-time offer; I want to do it now instead of later".)

Hi there,

I'll answer all of your questions numbered below:

  1. Correct, all the admins of the workspace will get the same enhanced admin capabilities. However, they could remove you from the workspace right now, as a free workspace, if they wanted to. You can learn more about what workspace admin capabilities come with different memberships here. I recommend promoting people to the admin of your workspace sparingly - instead, make people admins of the boards they need to be admins of
  2. You can add a credit card belonging to anyone in your team/organisation, and they will be charged after the 14 days. If you add no credit card, no one will get charged and the upgrade will end
  3. The kind of changes you have listed are not exclusive to Business Class, so yes, they will be maintained. But for the example of if you are a workspace admin, not an admin of the board, and you close it during the trial period, it'll stay closed. We actually recommend this as an option to close boards in support that users aren't the admin of. 
  4. Correct, if you start the free trial for a workspace, another admin can't then apply another 14 day trial down the track. If you need an extended trial, you can reach out to our team at trello.com/contact, but you can also pay and ask for a refund and cancellation from our team within the first 30 days of your subscription if you choose to not continue with Business Class
