Hi,

We use Trello to manage our project and often add attachment (images) contain Geo-Location which is important.

I have tested uploading image from Windows computer, Android Devices, Apple Mac and handheld devices ; next I download all of uploaded images to same device, the images upload from Windows computer and Android devices retain the geo tag info(EXIF) ; images upload from Apple Mac, iPhone, Ipad have not retain geo tag info (EXIF) at all, it was working couple weeks ago.

Is there a new bug just appear recently ?

Hi Alex,

Can you please check the format of your photos and let us know which format you are using? Please note that Trello app doesn't support these iPhone photo formats: WEBP, HEIC, or TIFF formats. When you upload via Trello app in iOS, HEIC files are converted to JPG, and does not retain geo information like EXIF.

I would recommend, based on what pix SEO mentioned, is to try another file storing app like Google Drive or Dropbox so you can upload to them as is and you can just copy their links to attach to Trello.

I hope this helps, but let us know if you have any questions!

Hey Alex,

That sounds really frustrating! There might indeed be a bug or a change in the way Apple devices handle EXIF data when uploading images.

Here are a few things you could try to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Check Privacy Settings: Make sure that your Apple devices are set to allow location services for the camera and any apps you're using to upload images.

    • Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services and check if it's enabled for the Camera and Trello.
  2. Update iOS/macOS: Sometimes bugs are fixed in the latest software updates. Make sure all your Apple devices are running the most recent versions of iOS or macOS.

  3. App Permissions: Ensure that Trello has the necessary permissions to access your location data.

    • Check in Settings > Trello and make sure Location is set to 'While Using the App' or 'Always'.
  4. Image Metadata: Before uploading, use an app like Metapho or EXIF Viewer to check if the geo-tag data is present in the images. If it's missing, the issue might be with how the photo was taken or saved.

  5. Try Another App: As a test, try uploading images to another service (like Google Drive or Dropbox) to see if the EXIF data is retained. This can help determine if the issue is specific to Trello or a broader issue with iOS/macOS.

If the problem persists, it could be worth reaching out to Trello support or checking Apple support forums to see if others are experiencing the same issue. There might be a recent update or bug that others are discussing.

Hope this helps also can check this app, airbrush ! Let us know if you find a solution.
