Since I wrote Atlassian training is not one-size-fits-all Atlassian University has released a lot of great training material.
Remember, just as the Atlassian toolset is highly configurable to suit your way of working, Atlassian training is not one-size-fits-all either.
Free training options
The free training catalog has been has been extended beyond Bitbucket and Jira Server. The platform indicator shows whether a course is available for Data Center/Server or Cloud.
The self-paced tutorials are listed in the sub-topics:
- Atlassian Cloud 101 - focused on Confluence, Jira Service Management, and Jira Software including Advanced Roadmaps, Next-Gen projects, and Jira Reporting.
- Free tutorials - covering a range of commonly used Jira apps along with using Opsgenie on mobile and Git.
- Free skillbuilders - these are a great way to extend your knowledge and come with the option to sit an online-proctored quiz to earn a skills badge.
You can also check out the Community training video library - a growing list of short videos. Many of these videos are the same content as self-paced tutorials just broken down into a friendlier length. These videos and more can be accessed on Atlassian Product Tutorials YouTube playlists.
Hands-on courses
Sometimes you want more out of training than just watching videos. Atlassian has a range of courses that include access to a lab environment along with practise exercises to enhance the training materials. Hands-on courses are available in a range of delivery methods.
On-demand courses come with access to the recordings and demos for 30 days. During that time you have access to an optional hands-on virtual lab (though Data Center/Server courses have a timer with a limit of 24 hours total time spent in the lab over the 30 days).
To up-skill as a team you can have virtual or onsite training with an Atlassian Authorised Instructor. This interactive experience including access to the hands-on virtual lab relevant to your platform and can be organised through Atlassian or directly with one of the 50 Atlassian Training Partners available worldwide

Certification preparation courses
Atlassian offers On Demand Certification preparation courses. Most of these on-demand course include access to the materials for 365 days except for two courses sold as certification bundles. During that time you have access to a hands-on virtual lab environment (though Data Center/Server courses have a timer with a limit of 24 hours total time spent in the lab over the 30 days).
Project Administration in Jira Server and Managing Jira Cloud Projects are sold as certification bundles where you get access to the course and supplementary tutorials for 60 days upon purchase. You need to book and sit the exam within 60 days of purchasing the course.
Certification Accelerator Experience
If you are considering an Atlassian certification in 2021, consider signing up for Certification Accelerator Experience available as part of the virtual event Team 2021. Along with the on-demand preparation course, you will get access to a month-long study group, a 6-week study guide, and peer-to-peer learning and study opportunities.
